Evergreens had a point to prove in this fixture following last weeks disappointing defeat. Evergreens were alive from the first whistle and their immediate pressure paid off when Phoebe Carmen put through Jess Shand to score the opening goal. Evergreens then remained persistent and Harriet Segasby slotted home to make it 2-0. Thetford then came in to the game and won a short corner, which took an unfortunate deflection of the keepers pads and looped over the defenders into the net. This was followed by a series of further short corners but evergreens stalwart defending and Sam Turners goal line save kept Thetford at bay. Evergreens regained possession and a great solo effort from Jess Shand saw her 1 on 1 with the keeper and finished with an unstoppable strike into the roof of the net to make it 3-1 at half time.

The second half saw Evergreens produce and impressive team display with good passing and well organised defending enabling them to dominate the play. Relentless pressure on the Thetford goal paid off with a fourth goal for evergreens, scored by Jess Shand to complete her hat-trick. Thetford managed to break through the Evergreens defence where some last ditch defending by Naomi Holl resulted in a penalty flick, which was subsequently sent over the bar. Evergreens maintained their high level of play and Katie Taylor was found on the left post to sweep the ball home and secure a 5-1 result.
Player of the match: Naomi Holl.
